                     What Are Gummy Bears Made?

               Do you like gummy bears? Do you know how they make gummy bears? Well, its actually quite easy. German  entrepreneurs  Hans Riegel invented gummy candies in the early 1920s when he started his candy company named Haribo. Reigel's first candy that he made was the Gummy Bears. Today the base ingredient in gummy bears are edible gelatin. Edible gelatin gives the gummy bears a chew consistency and a long "life".

               Gummy bears are made of edible gelatin as well as other candies. Once the ingredients are mixed together, the resulting liquid is cooked until it thickens into what manufacturer call slurry. There are different types of gummies. For example there are gummy bears, gummy worms, and etc. The molds have a lining of corn starch so that the candy doesn't stick to the mold. It is cooled for about 24 hours to 64 degrees Fahrenheit.
